Spring Break Trip 3/12 - 3/22/08
The Trip is Full - No seats are available.  Way to go everyone!

Here is all of the latest information on the spring break trip.  Updated: March 6 - 11:59pm

With regard to the birth certificate.  The border says that the birth certificate must be a certified copy.  Whatever that means...  I think adults for sure should either have their original or else a notarized copy.  Scouts probably the same, but I don't think it is going to be as critical as the adults.  We have never had trouble at the border, but there's always a first time.  We just don't know how they are going to be.  So it's best to be prepared!  Personally, I think if you don't have a certified copy, I'd bring the original. I will take care of them and return them at the end of the trip... It's better to not take chances.

School Permission Form

Current Roster I think...

Parental Permission Form - Needs to be filled out for every Scout attending the trip, even if parent is traveling with the group.

Medical Form - If you are new and I don't have a medical form for you, please download this and fill out the Class I portion.

What to Bring - Equipment List

REQUIRED: EVERYONE MUST HAVE A COPY OF THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE - ADULTS MUST ALSO HAVE A PHOTO ID.

REQUIRED: ALL SCOUTS MUST HAVE A UNIFORM (I HAVE SOME EXTRAS FOR THE NEW GUYS)

REQUIRED: ALL SCOUTS MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE BSA.  There is no cost for this, but a parent must fill out and sign an application prior to our departure!  This if for insurance reasons and BSA policy!

REQUIRED: ALL SCOUTS MUST HAVE KHAKI GREEN PANTS- You can purchase pants similar to the BSA’s at Kmart for $10 (Basic Edition, men’s Khaki), and also at Kohl’s, for around $7 on sale- Sonoma brand.  If they are not available, the Boy Scout Office should have them, however, they are very expensive, like $40.  It is located on Camp Phillips Road (Cty X).

REQUIRED: Each Family is expected to provide one meal for the trip or other items such as plates, bowls, paper towel, etc.  Deb Morgan is arranging this 677-4925 or 498-3846.  Once everything is filled, families are then asked to provide cash in the amount of about $40 for propane, ice, bread, etc.

Note: The bus is full.  We really need everyone to pack smart.  Please only pack one large and one hotel bag per person.  Please do not bring cots.  Adults should consider bringing their own tents.

Adults attending the trip need to read and understand the Boy Scouts of America guidelines prior to participating on this trip.  This is a mandatory BSA standard and will be posted here shortly.

3/4/08 Postcard:

  • We will not have a meeting this Thursday, because it is the Mushkodany District Awards Banquet at Shooters. Any parents that want to attend should contact me. Right now it’s just Ken and me. I know it’s late notice, but I just forgot to tell everyone.

  • So… as far as money for the trip goes… Please either mail it to me at 10142 Trout Creek Road, Amherst Jct., WI 54407 or else drop it off at Dollar Bills. They have an envelop there. Please do not wait until the day of the trip! The cost is $175 and payable to Troop 200. We’ll have almost 50 people on the trip with two cars following us (about 35 Scouts and 15 adults).

  • I will have one more packet of information coming out. If you did not receive the first one, please go online and download it or see Mrs. Ferg. Remember, all Scouts need the khaki pants from the BSA, Kmart or Kohls along with the proper uniform. Also remember everyone needs a copy of their birth certificate. These items are absolutely REQUIRED!

  • We’ll be polishing the bus this weekend on Saturday from 9am to 1pm. If anyone wants to stop by to help, please consider this your official invitation. :) Also, please make sure you contact Mrs. Morgan to arrange your meal! 677-4925 or 498-3846.
